Since 1997 I have been a professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators, an organization that promotes the highest levels of competency, professionalism and ethics among its members. I provide professional medical and scientific illustration for a wide range of clients across the healthcare, publishing, education, and life science industries nationally and abroad.
I received my BFA in Graphic Design, my MS in Anatomy with a concentration in Medical Illustration and my MFA in Drawing and Printmaking from Colorado State University (CSU). These academic accomplishments led to teaching and illustration positions in human anatomy and histology as well as figure drawing at CSU.
I traveled to Micronesia where I taught science and art at the College of the Marshall Islands and the University of Guam. It has been a privilege to spend many hours assisting students studying the human body in the laboratory, through the microscope and in the figure-drawing studio.
As an anatomy and art teacher in Micronesia, I conducted an art class where pre-nursing students created posters for the World Health Organization. This experience was educational with regard to the health topics, as well enlightening to the students learning new ways of expression. The posters combined the disciplines of art and science beautifully and went on to educate people all over the world.
Currently I hold a position as an adjunct professor of medical illustration at Augusta University in Georgia. It is a great pleasure to teach with the professors of this premier program! Not to mention the incredible students that are working toward their masters degree!
